Agreed, I’m in the South Bay and have also lived in cities where a car is not only unnecessary but even a burden.

I don’t give a crap about their flight arrangements and people of their kind don’t really get to choose their daily transportation methods anyway.

Not directly related to dating, but it’s most cringey to see children treating waiters that way. Tells you so, so, so much about the parents.

Impressive...I do it because it’s actually easier to position a car with the mirrors for a precise parking job, and I’m able to do it swiftly.  Also, no risk of backing into pedestrians when leaving.

When someone says “transit infrastructure is a tool to control the population,” I look outside and wonder what a public road is.

The affordable equivalent is any Vantage with a stick. They can be had without the “1 in that DBS’s price tag, and have almost as much street presence and Aston charm.

The silver lining is, all these people hiding their racism are now feeling safe enough to out themselves, so that society can see them for what they really are. At least this one isn’t a violent murderer from what we can see.

In the bubble era, manufacturers could afford to give their economy cars personality in the following ways:

No, but enough salesmen talking about it will convince buyers to care.

Wow that’s the full package, including the tilted license plate mount wing + hatch combo

The S-class has the traditional grille with the hood ornament, though. I don’t think you can get the big grille star there.

The MB illuminated star is the only car “feature” that my wife ridicules with passion equal to mine. It reeks of desperation and attention-seeking and plays right into the entry-level MB crowd.

This isn’t supposed to make sense, and we generally expect no better from his crowd these days.

The Camry is excellent at doing what it is designed to do, but I don’t imagine even a V6 XSE ever inspiring me to take it up the mountains.

That’s certainly true, but many of those smaller / commercial models consistently cost more than their competition regardless, at least up front. Perhaps they’re more reliable / cheaper to own in the long run, but I don’t live in Europe so I have no anecdotal evidence.

Even the beat-up 2004 Camry was a good car. An uninteresting drive, for sure, but an excellent transportation device.

Toyota’s sporty body kits have been looking worse than the regular model these days.

The Camry offers a hassle-free experience and a low, predictable (if not the absolute lowest) TCO. Even an enthusiast can appreciate what it offers in a congested world.

Thanks for sharing. Glad you and your wife made it through OK. Hope you have had the opportunity to compensate for that ordeal and then some.

I currently drive a sedan, next car will be a crossover.
