This is easy, a Boxster with the IMS upgraded.

This sounds like a case of two narcissists that adopted too many kids and couldn’t handle being told that they were terrible parents.

Fiat has more experience with small FWD car platforms. These now underpin various legacy-Chrysler nameplates, starting with the 200, and now the Jeep Renegade and Compass.

That “profits” argument is so bunk. Would a working-class person rather support a fellow American working-class person, for the profit of a foreign company’s shareholders (which are global anyway), or would you rather support lower-wage foreign workers if that means the brand and its board of directors are here at

Is the Journey really ugly or just incredibly generic-looking? It looks like something that belongs in the background of a commercial where the car isn’t allowed to show a particular brand.  And rental lots.

The Civic Type R and Golf R are significantly more expensive, though. The GLI seems to be an upscale (and slightly more powerful) competitor to the Civic Si. Family-friendly cars that can be decent fun when you want. While I normally like the more practical form factor of the hatchback, the larger and more usable rear

You ranted about the power and then suggested a car with the exact same engine?

Money won, and so did power trunk lids.  They effectively obsoleted the complex trunk struts and dual hinges seen on many upscale 90s cars.

You’d have to want a shorter-wheelbase car (which by nature offers more nimble responses) and be willing to pay more for it. The GTI does, however, have nicer interior materials if that matters to you.  As others have said, you can’t get the digital IP that the GLI has.

It’s time for an independent regulatory body to define what is “news” and what cannot be passed as “news,” and to do regular audits. All the BS can go into dedicated Editorial/Opinion platforms.

Agreed, CNN is becoming morally lazy by providing a platform to the dishonest. Being impartial does not mean giving an equal platform to a liar and labelling it as “news.”  But when sensationalism sells, and you allow it to sell under the guise of news, then it will continue happening because it gets views and clicks.

It’s got 100-200 pounds of RWD gear and a boat anchor’s weight of an engine. Add to that the bigger hardware to carry that size, weight and performance, plus the use of legacy parts from other heavy cars—the Challenger’s weight is not really surprising.

It’s just a normal car body designed before this test was introduced. Most small cars and even many larger ones crashed out of this test right around 2013, pun intended.

Cheap, cheap cheap spacious and somewhat unique family car. Just avoid the 2014s if you don’t know how to handle a DCT.

The 500L was designed before this test was devised by the IIHS. The fact that it fails spectacularly is not surprising, as did many, many other cars of the early 2010s that were caught off-guard. Even the stalwart BMW F10 5 Series got a “Marginal” rating only.

As a part of FCA, Fiat didn’t *need* to be successful as a brand in the US, but they never had the right business mindset. The US car market moves much faster than Italy, and their utter lack of investment in facelifts and improvements in the Fiat-branded models is a missed opportunity IMO.

As a car enthusiast, I do not find a car that happens to have ninja-zigzag styling necessarily fun to drive and own.

I smell pot on the road about once or twice a week. It’s easier and lingers longer than you may think. While at this point in CA it’s not common enough to be a concern, I don’t want that going up our noses.

I think the issue here is parents paying to get obviously unqualified kids in, with the fake sports experience, fake academic credentials, fake everything.

100% safe assumption here.
