The halo cars have always strayed from traditional Ferrari styling cues.

I only like the side profile of the F12. I hate the extra ricer-ducts for the brakes, and the rear end’s similarity to female reproductive organs has been discussed ad nauseum.
The 599 GTO is everything right about Ferrari tradition.
To be fair, every Lambo since the Countach has been a garish shout of “Look at me!” That’s sort of its point, actual performance be damned (they do go fast, mostly in straight lines). Ferraris are race tech filtered down for the road. Supposedly.
The F355 is one of the most instantly likable modern Ferraris. It has a timeless appearance and almost looks like what the 348 should have been, until the Testarossa committee came in and murdered the Pininfarina board room.
As I have one of the most universally acclaimed modern cars (at least styling-wise; an F355), I should add that Ferrari has not exactly been free of controversial styling examples even back in the 70s and 80s.
I don’t owe an apology to people who make their cars ride on sidewalls (risking blowout and loss of control on public roads) and bounce all over the road (again, risking loss of control on public roads).
This would destroy the ‘Ring. And I mean that literally.
Here is the new E46 M3 that everyone wanted.
Law of diminishing returns.
Entire powertrain replaced at 90k is not my idea of “reliable.” I don’t know much about Lambos, but there are quite a few Ferraris rolling around in the US with > 100k miles, on their original powertrains.
I don’t think that will get you much agreement here.
They tried too hard to keep the current Ford grille shape intact, so there is a useless blue line cutting through the intercooler opening.
And they have the resources to do so. Nothing wrong with that, but feels like it’s a big part of the negative responses here. You and your wife, exercising your ability to indulge in the affluent tastes, the status sought by all Jalops......
That’s cool, I had a Cayman for 4 years and really appreciate the judgment you’re handing out. I should just give up my taste for awesome sports cars and buy a Sienna.
My wife would not be impressed with a Focus RS or an STI either. But she would definitely let me buy anything that I really wanted and could afford. Hot hatches look a little juvenile, and that’s why dudes like them (and why the wives tend not to).
I get a feeling that there is an air of passive-aggressive jealousy here, at 3 things:
This is hilarious. When did Jalopnik become Judgesomebody’swifenik?
“Run over” would be somewhat of a poor description—sliced into three pieces would have been more accurate.
Any running, well-maintained car for $1800 is a Nice Price, so this rare oddball is even a little better than Nice.
