The metajoke is that liberals are too busy fighting amongst ourselves over multidimensional ideological purity while while conservatives be like, “Hes’s an unhinged moron and a literal nazi, but hey lower taxes. Works for me.”

I have a feeling that Jost would not characterize what he’s saying in that way. This piece would be a lot more effective if it accurately represented the viewpoint it’s arguing against.
