We've all seen Clockwork Orange multiple times which of course is a masterpiece within cinematic history, and we've all had to watch Alex sign forms in triplicate and march around the prison to Elgar once he's admitted. Perhaps Kubrick could of cut that lengthy sequence but he didn't because it was his work of art.

I highly recommend that you watch the film at least two more times. It's very clear from a sequence where she hears voices in her head, that Elaine was abused by not only her first husband but her father.
