I like this a lot more than I thought I would. I’ve loved the characters since the beginning but figured this was going to play out like a CW show being on Freeform. But these two kids are written with more maturity than pretty much everyone on those. I think the way it’s structured and paced that I’d would’ve rather

Everybody’s talking all this stuff about her. Why won’t they just let her live?

I cannot see the title of this without hearing it in my head in Don Pardo’s voice the way he did for “The President Has Mustard on His Chin.”

I like the evolution of things and where this is all headed, but I’m a bit sad since I’m guessing this probably means less (if any) screentime for the Taylor/Wags relationship which has been the best part of the show for me. Something about those two disparate personalities interacting was a lot of fun.

The biggest laugh it got at our showing was when the kid is bashing his head on the desk and freaking out in class they pull back to show the reaction of the teacher and students, and while most look scared or confused there is of course one of them standing there trying to film it on his phone.

It definitely felt like a 2+ hour film while sitting there. And normally I don’t get particularly jazzed about horror movies. There’s been a few I liked because I felt at least unsettled, but mostly they just don’t work for me. But Dowd’s raving and the fact that it came from A24 let me get my hopes up for something

1. Sweet holy shit, I’m right there with you on the EpiPen situation. That was pretty ridiculous.

Just got back from seeing it. I guess I can see how some would find it scary, but I thought it was pretty silly. It’s very well made though. I loved the score. The acting, especially Toni, is very impressive.

Quentin’s casting process:

If you haven’t read Almost Interesting: The Memoir yet then that’s definitely worth a look. Especially the audio version with him reading it. It’s short but interesting and funny.

Can’t wait to see more of Bruiser! What’s that now? Oh.... oh no......

The show/team wasn’t complete until Bear and Shaw came.

Same. I never gave a damn about the Avengers, and the X-Men side of Marvel was the only part I’ve kept up with off and of since I started reading them in the late 70's. But when someone told me that a dude that grew up in backwater SC not too far from where I did was writing Avengers as some sort of sci-fi epic with

I can see that and definitely would’ve liked as much of that conversation as possible just for the incredible acting by the four of them there if nothing else. My read on it as far as him clamming up, and there seems to be a lot of them, was that he was just overwhelmed. Even beyond the emotional impact it’s having on

That looks very helpful. Thanks!

Watching The Americans finale yet again. Just so beautifully well done. The looks of shock, pain, and resignation on everyone’s faces as events and their new realities begin to sink in. Especially Stan as the scope of it all registers for him before, during, and after the garage.

After seeing Sarah Snook in Predestination a few years back I’ll watch her in anything. The rest of the cast of Succession sounds great as well, so I’m hoping that turns out well.

general internet assholery that doesn’t bear repeating
