Kinja asked to connect with my Facebook, Twitter or Google accounts, or make a burner. When I clicked Twitter it said “KINJA WILL NOW HAVE THE POWER TO LOOK AT ALL YOUR TWEETS AND MAKE POSTS ON YOUR ACCOUNT MWAHAHAHAHA,” so I hit the Back button and chose “burner.”

I post on Disqus and AV Club by extension under a different name and have been posting on Kinja under this name for awhile. I’m curious how they will organize AV Club because I think AV Club the way it’s functioned for years doesn’t lend itself well to this organizational format.

So we can’t sort by newest/oldest? That is lame!

By the way, AV Club, unless I’m being an idiot (a distinct possibility), it appears there’s no link to get you back to the main AV Club page once you click on a tv or film club link. If true, that would be pretty fuckin stupid and inconvenient.

It’s pretty impressive that they join gizmodo and end up immediately trying to get sued for defamation. (Recklessness probably isn’t actually met here though, but this is partially why gawker media group is now called gizmodo).

The extension is not a cure-all for Kinja commenting’s failings.

The website really, really does look like crap. I can learn the new comment system, and how to find articles and whatnot... but the website will always be shitty-looking.

It almost worked for me. I briefly saw my Disqus avatar, but when I went to post, it asked to create an account. I tried creating a burner one, copied the key & everything, but now it says my login name & key are wrong. Fuck.
