I thought Survival sucked when I read the novelization before actually seeing the shitty episode. You think she's gotten better?

That's a cool idea, but they made it too rah rah Britannia at the end. Doctor Who is very post-empire but I feel that the new Doctor Who is just a little too mainstream to be that critical

It was like a 90s video game

I love her voice. When I think of the Ice Warriors I always think of Peladon because I only got to see a couple Troughton episodes so those were always first and foremost on my mind. And then they connected a classic, I was like FUCK YEAH

Yeah, that was a mediocre episode.

I thought it was a nice old school episode. Gatiss has a spotty record (but I loved Robin of Sherwood full stop) but tonight he nailed a classic-style episode. I'm happy to see the auxiliary characters have some dialogue and Alpha Fucking Centauri OH YEAH. It didn't need a twist or some bullshit, it was straight up

Agreed and I was rooting for it. I love the original and I was pissed about the remake, not because of the all female thing, which is fine, but I was hoping it was set in the same universe. I invested time in the original film, the sequel, the cartoon, and even the goddamn novelization. There was a real story in the

I didn't hate Kill The Moon as much as everyone else did. I thought a lot of it was really effective, but I'm not bothered by political allegories, whichever side they land. Art is art, and writers have opinions and sometimes I agree and sometimes I don't.

I haven't read The Handmaid's Tale since middle school and I thought it was great back then, but it felt like YA lit. She also wrote Year of the Flood, which was hot garbage, so she's not infallible.

Doctor Who doesn't really take a coherent political stance because there's so many people involved over such a long time, and even if they did and I disagreed with it, I doubt I'd care.

My favorite too and I really enjoyed last week as an emotional high point of the season so far. But this one was the best it's ever been space effects-wise and it moved FAST

Yeah, I appreciate that they set her suit up early as malfunctioning so there at least was a story precedent, but it could have used more logic.

Not liking Catherine Tate is a completely reasonable reason to dislike the character, I thought it was celebrity stunt casting too originally but I thought she overcame it.

Wasn't that a different Baker? I remember Colin saying it in "The Twin Dilemma" after he tries to murder Peri.

The Valeyard! I will lose my shit.

Right, that's a weird reason to attack your criticism. Oh, it's TV, I guess I should leave my fucking brain at the door…

I'm glad they didn't use it because Harry isn't a gay character.

Harry gets his redemption in "Harry Sullivan's War" written by Ian Marter himself. He basically becomes James Bond after leaving the TARDIS so he does just fine.

I fucking love Rose and can't stand Ace. Rose is in my top 5 with Leela, Sarah Jane, Jamie, and Donna. Romana 1 gets a nod too, but Jamie was so much fun he just nudges her out. Fifth season Amy Pond is fairly amazing too.

Jamie and Leela are great examples. Turlough was a cool idea that kinda got swallowed in how cheesy they made The Black Guardian. We've had Bill for four fricking episodes, though, let's give her some time before we call her better than Rose who had a ton of character growth and was the first companion with a family.
