Don't remind me of the John Simm dancing scenes. It's like RTD purposely tried to waste an awesome actor on a fucking cartoon characterization.

Eh, not that jarring. They're time travelers so they could always be seeing creatures (or cyborgs) at different points in their evolution.
DING DING DING Earthshock Cybermen are the baddest-ass they've ever been!
Bingo, I didn't catch the professor-fucker vibe either. Just a young woman who wanted to keep the Doctor out of her friends/normal earthling life.
Did you watch it past the fuckin' first Christmas episode? Donna - blond and ditzy? You best go back to Series Four and give a re-fucking-watch.
That's a sweet ending too, when the Time Lords accuse him of genocide for destroying all of the weird vsgina-looking plant monsters. Besides Sil and Sabalom Glitz, one of the only good parts of Trial of a Time Lord,
He's an "everybody lives!" sort of writer. It doesn't bother me too much because he usually finds a way to tinge it with melancholy like this episode. That Eliza and son shit was sad as hell. No reason to let the sparsely sketched out supporting cast burn in Wood Hell forever too.
I hope it's a clean slate. If Clara taught us anything, sometimes it's better to start over.
Barf. Ghost Light is the best of the Seventh Doctor, but let's not act like that shit was great. The worst of RTD ("End of Time") or Moffat Season 7B still makes Ghost Light look like a bad high school play.
I think that's fair enough. If "Mels" had been set up earlier that would have been a much better payoff, and when they just kinda stopped searching for Melody, it was off-putting. There was so much good stuff in Season 6 (and you're right, a lot of it peters out after AGMGTW) that I forget about its faults.
I'm with you on Journey, but for some reason I've got a soft (black) spot for Curse. I'd love to see Helen Raynor knock one out of the park and I'd like the Sontarans to get another shot to redeem themselves!
That's some dark shit with that assisted suicide as well.
There was lots of Torchwood that I did like (even Countrycide and I loved They Keep Killing Suzie) and yes, Children of Earth was its best and really kept me captivated. I can't believe that's been nine years already! It's been nine years since David Tennant's gap year(!)
I thought this episode was enjoyable, but nothing really special. I've felt that about all of the season so far. There hasn't been any knockouts yet, but Capaldi feels so good as the Doctor and Bill is just a nice companion. I enjoy spending time with them, but I haven't had a throw my fist in the air moment yet (like…
Meat was the first episode that I thought of too. I figured the Star Whale from "The Beast Below" was one of those as well, so I guess I think of "Meat" all the time!
I appreciated the thought though. We haven't had one since "Black Orchid" have we?
Agreed. I've been itching for more with The Paternoster Gang since The Snowmen! Class had some cool ideas but The Shadowkin were underwhelming.
I loved Season Six because Moff really let his comedy side shine, it was one of the most consistently quotable seasons, they really went for the serialization, and having an actress like Alex Kingston deliver the zingers made it so much fun! But I know it wasn't a lot of people's favorite.
Time Heist was miles better than Daleks in Manhattan or The Sontaran Stratagem!
Spot on. But Missy is pretty great!
