Or it might be because that Dobby Doctor shit was horrible and got even worse when be became Doctor Jesus. I prefer to think of that season ending with Utopia.

Agreed, I feel like he's finally got it cooking and I hate to see him go!

It's The Valeyard! Moff, close the circle!

I'm kinda scared to watch the new MST3K, but I will always have a soft spot for The Land That Time Forgot!

Roger Delgado or nothing! His Master was a bastard but you also kinda wanted to hang out with him. Everyone else has just been insane.

I liked the fact that he was just a garden variety entitled asshole who wanted to make money and take advantage of others. He wasn't lonely or sad or anything to empathize with, he was just a product of the broken system and I liked how he used the coal mine as an excuse.

Yeah, I like the fact that Bill is just curious and smart. Ace had that Nitro9 bullshit.

I love John Simm, but his Master made Anthony Ainley look subtle. My wife and I visited the UK to see David Tennant in Hamlet in 2008 and that finally got her interested in Doctor Who. So when the Christmas specials came out, she was interested in watching. It was "The End of Time" and never asked to watch it again.

"Curse of Fenric" was a great novelization and I remember being excited that Doctor Who FINALLY visited WW2 (which was probably way too fresh in everyone's minds for it to be explored earlier in the series) but when I finally saw it about a year after I read it, I just couldn't stomach it.

Hell yeah. I don't agree with you about Liz being the best (I enjoyed her episodes, but she felt like a Doctor-lite instead of her own character), but goddamn, bringing out a solid analysis of The Silurians as well as Inferno, gets you all the stars for your comment!

Man, those original Captain Jack episodes are so much fun. I remember being so excited for Torchwood because they took the most exciting Doctor Who character in years and they gave him his own show. Then I watched it…

Jo, Sarah Jane, and Leela - how do you pick one as the best?!

I would! But alas it is not available in the UK and Canada.

Good point on the Weeping Angels and time being rewritten. I hadn't thought of it like that.

There's definitely a callback to The Happiness Patrol but thank the White Guaridan it's not cringeworthy like Doctor Who was in the late 80s.

That's why you have to set that shit up in the narrative so it's satisfying. It felt like a Deus Ex Machina - which Is bullshit. I'm looking at you "Parting of the Ways", "Last of the Timelords", and most heartbreakingly (because I expected more) the opening of "The Big Bang"!

Do we count those New Doctor Who adventures as canon? I think of them like the comics even though the Timewyrm was pretty sexy.

It's like keeping a car you had an accident in, except this car can fucking murder you whenever it wants using robot killer bees.

Tennant had the enthusiasm (that Christopher Eccleston lacked) and the zeitgeist of the late Aughts. The show is consistently better than ever (as opposed to great but spotty in 2008) but there was something about that time and cast that captured the imagination!

Bill is great! But I only want her to stay on as long as the story demands it. Donna was perfect that way and her ending was heartbreaking which is why it was awesome.
