They can, but Disney doesn’t. They’ve paid dividends every year for decades.

I’m all for a socialist uprising, but I can’t help but see Disney’s side on this one. Reading their 2019 annual report they had net income of about 11 billion. That’s a lot, sure, but their gross revenue is closer to 70 billion. That’s a shitload of overhead.
Now look at the shitstorm that is 2020.... People aren’t

Who is this “you” you’re referring about in the 3rd point? I am not in charge of anything that allows them to get away with their shitty hiring and firing practices and Disney+ is not even available in my country yet.

I work for a large bank and I know for a fact that our CEO has been advising Congress for more stimulus in the form of direct cash payments to individuals. I understand others are as well. I expect Republicans to ignore Democrats but I’m pretty surprised they are ignoring bank CEO’s as well....

And what’s crazy is that even many big name oil and gas companies have suspended bonuses for executives, yet Disney goes ahead and proves why they are one of the worst companies in the world.

It’s gonna be the auto bailout all over again.

Iger’s already forgone his entire 2020 salary. For Iger’s salary to pay even one year of wages(not even benefits) for 28000 employees, he would have to forgo his salary for 15-ish years.

1) They are absolutely prepared for situations like this, that’s their plan. Offload 30k people and be fine again.

You’d think even large companies would be pressuring Trump and McConnell for a comprehensive stimulus plan at this point.

Things go rough for a few months, and this corporation that took over so many companies, and is at the top of the stock market isn’t prepared for situations like this, I just don’t see the point of the way they have expanded if they can’t even take care of their most fragile employees.

What do you expect them to do? Make the long suffering chief executives have to take a cut in their bonuses?

I remember the to-do’ing over whether Cher had had work done, back in the 1980s, and I also remember her saying something along the lines of, “It’s my body; I can do what I want with it.” Good for her, if I’m remembering right. It was a very affirming thing for an insecure teenage girl to hear.

I feel for celebrities

The Kardashians will go too far eventually and be ruined forever. They all do.

Yes, the eyes. Exactly. I wasn’t so fazed when he got his implants. I’m more fazed by how his face work has made him I dunno... gaunt? His face has lost a lot of character. I think he’ll look better after a few more years.

This is an interesting take and one I never considered before.

“...a lady who has taken care of herself and had some fun.”

The problem with plastic surgery in Hollywood is the sameness of it. If I see a photo of a Kardashian, I need a caption to know which one I’m looking at. They seem to be evolving into an interchangeable archetype. Same with young actresses. For every Zendaya or Saoirse Ronan with a very distinctive look, you’ve got a

I’ve listened to this twice it made such an impression on me. I can barely make it through the parts where her incisions are separating and she’s in so much pain. I’ve always had weight to lose, but this story helped me reach a place where I truly realized that happiness and being thin were not hand in hand (something

The thing that always gets me is the people getting the most dramatic, expensive work done have the money to just look great by less dramatic means.

Like, Meryl Streep has probably gotten Botox or some subtle enhancers, and she doesn’t look like she’s in her 40s but she looks fantastic. She is probably using a great

For me the thing that is always jarring is when the new face is both 1) very different and 2) doesn’t seem like an an improvement by Hollywood beauty standards.
