I don’t think she was drunk every time. Also, that isn’t an excuse.

And not that this should surprise anyone but she has exactly ZERO self-awareness to be pushing something like this with all that’s going on socially in America. People are not of a frame of mind to sweep that behavior aside.

A lot of bigots make ‘exceptions’ for certain people. They’ll firmly believe all X people are Y bigoted belief but their one friend isn’t like that.

I had read that Hilton’s constant use of the n-word (“hard R”) was the deal breaker for Richie. They stopped being friends and I don’t know how Hilton can spin that.

This, exactly. I’m betting she has at some point in time justified it with “you don’t act/speak/look/seem black.”

i don’t know if it is, people say dumb crap when they’re drunk all the time, does not necessarily mean anything.

Yep, that was my thought too, since she seemed like she was one of the first in that ‘famous for being famous’ trend in the days before social media took off...at least for my pop culture radar. Kim seemed like she was kind of like an accessory in the background of sorts to Hilton at that time in her popularity,

She might have cared more about Nicole being rich.

who else could it be? No one else in the cast was even close to being black....I need Vin to answer some questions!

There’s an interview where they ask her if she ever worries that her moment may have passed, and she gets pissed and walks out of the interview.

I went straight to IMDB to look up the cast when I read that part! (That’s my guess, too.)

I’m so glad no one’s falling for the “Actually, Paris Hilton is smart and woke and good, actually” press tour.

When I first started reading I thought “ugh must we give her any coverage at all?” but I actually think bringing up her documented racism in a time that she’s trying to rehabilitate her image is important.

Paris Hilton’s disappearance into irrelevance makes me happy and gives me hope that the Kardashians will eventually disappear into irrelevance as well. Paris needs to stay gone. She doesn’t need to come back like Michael Myers.

She’s 40 now and there’s still nothing there but the brand”. that’s sort of the whole point of the documentary though. You see the brand was born out of her trauma, both at the school and the leaked sex tape, and Paris seems aware of how shallow it all is for a moment, but will probably quickly pivot back into her

Watched it like an LA car chase. First of all, I’ll take the fake baby voice way over the obnoxious, affected vocal fry she employs. I almost broke my remote that I found myself using as a stress ball because of that fucking voice. My take away is that she is obviously lacking in emotional intelligence and this film

meh this review is misleading, it quickly veers away from the fame aspect of Paris and delves into not just her own trauma, but others from her school who were also abused. This is a disservice to the survivors in the documentary who become just as central to the film as Paris.

I was wondering that too. If so, early Vin dodged a bullet.

I’m sure the fact that she is irrelevant now just galls her. In my mind, the first thing I think of is “famous for being famous.” She’s gross and I hope her ass gets dragged for this shit, it’s long overdue.

I’m unclear why we should be paying any attention to Hilton. Maybe she’s not exactly the vapid party-animal she appeared to be on The Simple Life, and nobody should be subjected to the kind of abuse described in the doc, but do we really need to be heaping more attention on yet another rich white capitalist with
