Yes! Same thing here. People always want to try to use the easier of my two last names rather than the whole thing, or they think i’m trying to give my first/last instead of just my last name, or my files get screwed up because people don’t understand how to alphabetize a hyphenated name... I could go on and on.

This father is not protecting his daughter.

It is more than possible to have a concerned father, a close relationship with him in which you come away feeling comfortable and good about yourself without sexual behavior factoring into your relationship. In fact, most female adults function this way with their fathers. The need for a father to judge his daughter’s

Please please please explain what you mean by “maintain the only real sense of their marriage-worth in a way that is positive”.

I can only see this being okay if said leaves are being ordered to make crafts, i.e. wreaths, centerpieces, etc. Mostly though, I agree that this is a crock of shit- a crock of shit that is apparently financially viable in our overly capitalistic society. People want and pay for shit like snow in a box, so why not

If this doesn’t qualify as a Pandora’s Box issue then I don’t know what will.

Differences in humidity is a good place to start. In Alabama, the humidity is high. In Connecticut, I think it’s moderate (but I could be wrong). In Cali it is quite low. Much of the water used for irrigation, or even rain, evaporates before reaching the soil in a low-humidity area, whereas the moisture in the air in

Thank you! I feel the same way.

I can see how that was more difficult for you. 24 days would have passed pretty quickly, and you would have been able to avoid regular strip searches (yeesh, that sounds terrible!). I suppose it depends upon the person and their situation. For this woman she still gets to have a pretty decent life and gets to avoid

How so?

I am going to be that person. If she really is “a narcissist and sociopath” then she is ill, mentally ill. Her diagnoses would be Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Antisocial Petsonality Disorder.

I think we’re all assuming the dude’s mom is healthy and of sound mind with the capacity to make a generally acceptable judgement call on her son’s behavior, but I suspect at least one of those things is not true. Mom might be on drugs, or have mental illness herself.

You absolutely have the right to make and enforce any rules you see fit in your home.

I’m an advocate for the idea of “planting the seed”, meaning that gently mentioning your differing point of view or the problem inherent in their comment with someone willing to listen and consider what you said will place a small or rudimentary thought in their mind that over time can grow and blossom into a
