thanks for the most erudite post of the year.
thanks for the most erudite post of the year.
I’ll see the F35 and raise you the best CAS airplane in the world. For a WHOLE lot less money.
sorry, you beat me to it. I posted about Kroil too. amazing stuff.
Take if from a guy who has worked on his share of rusty tugboats & equipment for decades: Aerokroil is the magic penetrant oil.
Thanks for another great article and pics, Tyler. I love the Ants and get to see A 124 that regularly flies into Paine Field (KPAE) delivering parts for Boeing. When you see it next to a 747 is when you can get an idea of how truly massive it is. A long time ago, early 80’s if memory serves, I was flying low past the…
Great article, thanks! as a long-time Amazonian, I have a question: We have Amazon on two Kindles, two phones, three PC’s and two screens. I assume I have to do the two-step on each device, right?
That is a great patch. I saw another good one at an airshow that said, ‘A MiG at your Six is better than no MiG at all.’
thanks Alan! this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. great app.
Even if you empty the tank there is still gas in the carburetor. I fill mine with gas mixed with a stabilizer called Sea Foam. I’ve never had a problem starting it in the spring.
thanks for another excellent article, Tyler. I’m a firm believer in simplicity and effectiveness when it comes to any military aircraft. The S-3 is a perfect example (like the A-10) that high tech/stealth doesn’t always carry the day and is, in fact inferior. (F-35 v F-16 in a dogfight for example) Plus, it just looks…
The Widgeon has always been one of my favorite amphibians. My Dad got his multi-engine seaplane rating in one from the old barnstormer, Lana Kurtzer in Seattle. He told me the Ranger engines were underpowered and unreliable and the airplane couldn’t climb on one engine. He discovered this the hard way when the right…
I saw this at Abbotsford on Saturday. Pure awesomeness! Valhalla looks like a toy compared in size to the F-22.
Mightytext for SMS from a PC. I use it every day all day. Works great. Also, Lightshot is a neat little screenshot tool.
LOL - This reminded me of a Dave Barry article on ‘how to win arguments’
My Dad often quoted Socrates:
Wow! Awesome - wish I’d have been there. We used to go to the Seafair hydroplane races in Seattle where the Blues perform every year. We were front row center on the log boom on the back of the race course and for many years the FAA rules said we weren’t ‘crowd’, but rather, ‘participants’, so the Blue Angels could…
wow! that’s amazing tech. And the F-5 is such a gorgeous airplane. Thanks Tyler!
Always is one of my favorite flying flicks and I watch it at least once a year. Besides the famous opening scene of the PBY buzzing the guys in the boat, my favorite is Dreyfuss running out of gas and dead-sticking the A-26, whistling all the way.
Oh man, I thought it looked familiar - that PBY was based here at Arlington Municipal Airport (KAWO) until recently. It was used in the great movie, ‘Always’. This is truly sad.
Thanks for the heads-up! I’m reading this on my Samsung Chronos right now. No update as of yet (6/27) but I’ll watch for it.
