Fein Multimaster still rocks. For one thing, you can change blades without that damn allen wrench that you can never find. That feature alone sold me about 3 years ago.

ok. I can't comment on whether this is true for most people, but I find when I write something down long-hand, I remember everything I wrote. For instance, last weekend I forgot to bring the grocery list I'd written that morning but I remembered every one of 30+ items on it because I wrote it. I haven't tested if it…
I vote for BECU, Boeing Employee's Credit Union. We finally got everything with them; our Visa card, Mortgage, line of credit, all of it. After Chase burned us, I started looking at CU's and didn't even consider BECU because we've never been Boeing employees. Our accountant at work told me that didn't matter so I…
Another great, fact-filled post, Tyler - thanks! This is the reason FA is on my must-read list every morning. Keep up the good work!
Awesome! Love the A10! It 's the best close air support aircraft we have. And it must be a blast to fly.
Shadow Divers is a riveting book! I've read it three times. As a long-time scuba diver, parts of the story are absolutely chilling.
Russia just denied they have any submarine in Sweden, so that's a confirmation that they actually do. If their recent history in Ukraine is any guide, that is.
A Bridge too Far is an excellent WW2 movie with a stellar cast including a young Anthony Hopkins. For any WW2 movie list, I'd have to include 'The Big Red One' with Lee Marvin and 'The Pacific' series.
This is so simple I can't believe it's the first I've heard of it. This trick would have saved me a lot of swearing over the years. Thanks!
Wow! nice post and hits it squarely on the head! Kudos
hindsight is always 20/20. and High-tech doesn't always win.
Canada - Please, I beg you - I like you guys and I get up to BC every chance I get, especially for your Abbotsford airshow.... for God's sake, choose the F-18 and F-16 over the F-35. Please! Lockheed has lost their mojo! Don't get sucked in to that money pit!
Thanks Thorin! downloads went perfectly. I missed my old InDesign and didn't want to spring for the whole CS subscription.
Great article! thanks. btw; a great friend of mine who is a mountaineer and a bit low-tech anyway, asked me if I knew where he could buy a sextant. I said, 'Gee, Rob - why would you want a sextant in this age of GPS?' He replied, 'Because when all of those satellites GPS depends on go down, I want to be the only guy…
Ha! I can just hear that falcon saying, 'Hey you amateurs - THIS is how the master does it, boys!'
'I suspect there isn't a person in the world who hasn't had trouble trying to find a wall stud when hanging a picture, shelf, or TV mount. '
I hired a licensed plumber to plumb the first house we built. We'd had a delay getting the well water going so we went ahead and got the drywall done. When we turned on the water we had 3 leaks in faulty solder joints and I ended up tearing new drywall out of the main bathroom. That's when I decided to never hire…
Wow, Tyler! that takeoff shot is amazing! I can almost feel the heat! thanks for another great article.
'Yet in an Air Force where programs like the F-35 suck so much marrow out of the fiscal bone, there is little left over for actually learning to fight with the gear we have, yet alone the more expensive stuff we will supposedly be getting sometime in the future.'
A cordless drill/driver is an absolute necessity, but I love my Milwaukee compact 18V impact driver. (Milwaukee 2650-20 M18) and I use it at least every week. It will drive 3" screws effortlessly without stripping the heads. Be sure to use the impact rated bits.
