Since the election, I have heard so many people (both Trump voters and Hilary voters who, for whatever reason, are trying to be conciliatory) say something to the effect of: “He’s not so bad. He’s the same as all other Republicans.”

Simple. He tried to vote in a way that protected himself. The Trump voter voted in a way that let the wolves in. You’ll counter with “But they thought it would help”...to which I just note that there was plenty of information out there to tell them otherwise.
America had been waging war against his existence since the moment his existence began
This would be like if after seeing his parents gunned down in an alley, Bruce Wayne grew up to become a prominent NRA advocate.
Steve Bannon is not uneducated. It defies belief that someone who understands Wall Street and capitalism
It’s really simple when you consider the habitat in which it was found. Walmart parking lots are a unique ecological niche commonly inhabited by the American Redneck. An observed behavior of the Redneck is tossing random shit into their preferred conveyance, the pickup. There are, by my estimate, at least dozens of…
Well Blue States could also try to remove the 438 representative limit. Right now the more populous states are underrepresented in the House. Liberals would probably have control of it otherwise. Also, if you’re really social justice, we could try and make gerrymandering illegal since it’s the worst thing our…
No, Democrats are saying, “Well, shit, I hated Bush, but he isn’t this bad.”
Do we? No, we don’t.
Who got screwed by Obama?
“how socialism works in practice”
This works under the assumption that your classmate is actually a slacker and a failure rather than someone who is poor, has to work full time on top of studying, is actually putting in more effort then you and would outperform you if he had the same opportunities in life that you started with.
That’s not fucking socialism at all. You have no clue at all what you’re talking about.
Yeah, it seems like the old racists keep raising new generations of racists to carry on. Plus, people are inherently contrarian. As we’ve seen, if you try to make the status quo “equality for all”, you have no shortage of people willing to “stick it to the man” against the “oppression” of “political correctness” and…
Oh please. This isn’t about Elon Musk. This is about a man with no strategic armed forces experience, and 5 military deferments, approving a raid that was deemed too risky by the previous administration, all so he could gain a little political capital. Dude couldn’t even be bothered to make an appearance in the…
A corollary to this would be, don’t watch 24-hour news networks or nightly news shows at all, ever. I stopped watching CNN and MSNBC and even Bloomberg, and I couldn’t be more at peace. I still know what awful things are going on, just by reading a variety of news sources online and in print (as I’ve said before, the…
Nobody is ‘confusing’ you. You’re already confused. You’ve adopted the low bar of punditry, the idea that what matters in politics is the theater and the game, but not the policies or their effects. As the old saying goes, there is no one more dangerous in politics than the articulate idiot. Except, evidently, the…
That’s a pretty rosy view, though, and as much as I’d like that to be the case, I believe that most people’s egos are too damned fragile to admit that kind of blunder and actually learn anything from it. People, as a rule, don’t change.
All of them?
Inequality is always going to exist, in some form. I can’t think of any society where everyone was truly on the same level. What we should be focusing on is muting the impacts of that inequality, removing some of the systemic biases that influence inequality, and providing clearer avenues to class mobility.
