In addition to a jug of vinegar, I also keep a box of Borax on hand whenever some scrubbing power is needed. You can ditch all your cleaning chemicals and free up some space!

I use vinegar to take out hardwater stains in glasses that got left out too long, or simply dunk items with hardwater buildup (e.g. showerhead) in a container with vinegar. Alternatively, I've heard of pouring vinegar through coffee machines to clean them of hardwater buildup.
