Agreed on all fronts!
Good luck! It’s tough, kids want to be able to put things in categories so they have a greater feeling of understanding and control, but grown ups can really help.
I love this. I'm going to make up my own tune and use those lyrics with my daughter. She's juuuuust starting to make assumptions, and I'm hoping to nip it in the bud ASAP.
Good to know. I know it’s biased, but I don’t really trust Nintendo not to take a step backwards even as they go forward.
I’m just excited to design some more “inappropriate” clothing options that my villagers can eventually pick up and wear.
Oh hell no
I have college freshmen who were born in 2001
My 5 year old wears dresses, and has helped start some dialogs at school around gender. After another boy got bullied a little for long hair (not even that long!), the teachers taught them a song “There’s no such thing as a boy thing, there’s no such thing as a girl thing, there’s just a lot of fun things, that we can…

Pocket Camp did it too. I have a male character wearing Isabelle’s summer work attire.
nice! I’m still picking the cutest girly looking character, but it’s great they’re providing this freedom.
You choose between male- and female-presenting figures during character creation but it doesn’t exclude you from hairstyles or facial features like in previous games.
The line from Mabel never bothered me. I read it as it surprised her a little bit but ultimately she was very accepting. Either case I’m always glad animal crossing allows for these options.
