That was my problem with the scene, too. I got so caught up in why the baby was just left on his dad's porch (especially if he was gonna stop and hug it out with his mom on his leisurely escape back out of town).

He also got killed in the first episode of ill-fated (and terrible) Red Widow IIRC.
Sort of a random thought, but one of the things I love about this show is the hair and makeup. Sarah's face is utterly and completely bare. Freckles, pale skin, chapped lips - not even a hint of brown mascara or blush. Exactly how the character would be, but rarely seen on TV. Then in the final scene with Holder, they…
I can't believe it's this far down into the comments before somebody said it.
I don't want to anger the AVClub gods, but several of us have moved to a new place to talk about the show and there are some great, snarky reviewers there - I won't post the full URL if that's frowned upon, but google "project runaways" and "blogspot" to find us.
The video was unnervingly interesting. I don't even watch Dr. Who and I still couldn't stop watching.
I think we also have to assume that, because of his incarceration from such a young age, Daniel doesn't react to situations or resolve conflict in a normal, adult way. His behavior isn't normal because he has never learned how to be normal. He's smart, obviously, but lacks the emotional intelligence that he needs to…
Apparently nobody can get close to the Dome - it's all quarantined by the military. Barbie's trying to get his dad to use his connections to get Barbie back to the Dome.
I found this episode strangely boring, even though it shouldn't have been. I recognize Blais is probably one of the best chefs to come out of TC, but as a presence he just alternates between douchey and uninteresting to me. Marcel is Marcel, perpetually unlikeable even when he's being self-effacing. I'm hoping that…
I also liked how Jim said the autopsy was the grossest thing he'd ever seen. I would imagine anybody in his position at the CDC (is he a doctor) would likely have seen peoples' insides liquefied from some of the nasty bugs that are out there.
Jonathan Hyde's wispy white wig is way worse (how's that for alliteration!). Last night you could actually see the wig tape in some of the close-ups. And the old age makeup is horrible (although, most old age makeup is horrible).
I know several years ago he had to take steroids for an injury or illness and it made him blow up (VM season 3) and affected his skin. Don't know if that's back or has something to do with his look. Like @avclub-2036aea21d81a7c8ece0175625da1ee6:disqus said, though, it's the hair that's really weird.
It actually makes me a little mad how good Aden Young is. Like, I'm just so frustrated that so few people get to see what is, for me, the best performance on TV right now. And then multiply that by the fact that he will likely never be recognized for this role by the industry either — just breaks my heart.
Up until this episode I was having a hard time envisioning the inevitable future where we know they end up together. Throughout the series, he has been so clinical and aloof that I was starting to question what Virginia could be attracted to long term. This episode changed all that. Even just the fact that he was so…
That would require people on TV telling each other things.
I would argue, though, that Lillian didn't actually know she was aphasic since she was so adamant that she was speaking the correct words. It sucks, but I still think she needed to know that in order to take appropriate steps as far as her patients are concerned.
No argument there lol, but Friends, like Roseanne, is one of those sitcoms that has gotten more watchable for me several years removed from when it was originally on.
It totally reminded me of that Friends episode where Monica has an interview with the salad fetishist restaurant owner.
I thought he was implying she was into anal, but the whole juxtaposition of the two scenes made the message a little hazy lol.
She's a lot less irritating on Misfits, in her own accent. Here she's unbearable.
