I usually sneak by that one by saying "bob and his wife... at the time" or something like that, but it's impossible to say "I asked her... at the time... about her... at the time... dress... ugh... I CAN'T SPEAK ENGLISH ANYMORE".

The one that trips me up is talking about past events, because while I'm pretty solid calling my friend "him" and "he", when I'm talking about something five years ago I'm much more l likely to revert to "she" because at the time he WAS she. It's really strange, it's like the memory is time-locked grammatically.
"Prince-ASS Emily", one of her cousins keeps gleefully muttering to himself. "Prince-ASSSSSSS".
I'm guessing the baby was sleeping and not particularly visible until she brought it out to breastfeed, at which point everyone around her realized there was a tiny baby in a pit without ear protection. Honestly, I we're missing historical context here. 1975 was two years before Polanski raped a 13 year old and many people thought that charging him was an overreaction and that the girl could consent. The UK didn't grant anonymity to rape victims until 1976. God know I love "Sixteen Candles", but both that movie and…
