I wonder what the law says about rear ending someone that has blacked out tail lights? Usually it’s ‘if you rear end someone, its your fault no matter what’ but if its a legitimate case of ‘I couldn’t see his brake lights, they’re painted black’, I wonder how that affects things?

The unstated question is “Am I an idiot for making it harder to see my car, reflectors and tailights” . Mustang dudes answer is Yes.
