I see your point, that they are potential values. All I am saying is that in my mind the masses are not going to have their brightnesses set to either extreme. (i am sure some will) So the dynamic contrast ratio is (for most people) bunk.

@fuchikoma: Contrast ratio's are BS, they are completely inaccurate there is no way measure the light bleed [through.not] to mention, if you adjust your screens brightness, contrast, and colors...you have altered the contrast ratio... but I understand your point.
