Yeah, I thought about that, especially after some of the conversations above.  But to be honest I just don't know that many supergroups.  Um, the Bens?

So, what's the best supergroup ever?

Honestly, this is brilliant marketing.  I'm definitely watching when/if this show comes back.  And I never cared to even check it out while it was airing!

Yeah, I've been really happy with his output overall, even if he definitely has his cringey moments here and there.  Michael Praytor is a highlight of the new album for me, perfectly captures that idea of the jaunty tune about people's lives just falling apart.

My roommate is going through both of them—in S4/S1—and I watched a couple Buffys with him the other night.  And now I just ache for it.

Yes, definitely that too.

I miss Buffy.

Yep, hopping on this train early because I've yet to watch Justified and SoA, and they just keep getting longer and more daunting.

If you're right, the show would basically become Gilmore Girls with a more depressed and cynical Lorelai, and tough and closed-off Rory.  And Emily Gilmore.

Very, very well said.  I'd never made the connection between the two before, but Family and Explorers are definitely two of my favorite Trek, and some of my favorite TV, ever.  I think the contrast has more than a little to do with it.

If it helps, the opening credits of season 2 spoil her transformation right away, five minutes into the first episode (before she has even appeared at all).  So you wouldn't have remained unspoiled for long.  At least, this is the case on the S2 DVD; it seems when it first aired they continued to use the S1 opening

Nice timing.  Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the premiere of Firefly (or, as it has come to be known, the second episode of Firefly!).  Some folks are doing a week-by-week rewatch of the show in the order the episodes were originally aired, in memoriam.  Yay Firefly!  Happy 10th birthday!

Yeah, I remember at some point in high school I decided to just watch the show because I'd seen some funny episodes, so I started with season one and was blown away with how smart and snappy the show was.  Each successive season got worse, I think, but as others have said it remained pretty outstanding TV until season

Hitchcock!  62 years old when he made Psycho.  Damn.

@avclub-4caf6aa0375b2499ebfe7e971b36eee3:disqus That was exactly what they wanted, I believe.  And Whedon won essentially by saying, "Either they're married, or I quit because we're obviously not trying to make the same show."
