There have been two episodes of “Grey’s Anatomy” that used silence and/or distorted sound to convey a character’s emotion/state of mind and people complained about the sound being “screwed up.”

That was a very cool, dramatic moment that elicited gasps and all kinds of vocal reactions from the audience I saw this with.

I’d agree, except that she says he’s texting first. If she was texting him all the time while he’s at work or whatever, not responding makes sense. But if he’s initiating the conversation, then completely going off the radar as soon as she replies, I’d get annoyed too.
