I don’t have enough faith in SqEx to do a “revive” Aerith plot with justice and a light enough touch, but I’m biased against it. Someone else taking the sword (e.g. Zack) is fine, that’s different enough to be new ground.

Depends how they handle it. Been a while since I played FF7 (like, years) but one of the big themes was to be able to move on from the past. Personally, S1's first opening (the aforementioend Raise Your Flag) set the bar TOO DAMN HIGH.

The story was practically the same....until you beat the evil wizard. Then the PS3 game goes into an extra story that feels super tacked on (...because it was).

I agree that seeking help can be scary (and expensive??? Not sure what his mental health coverage is like in the States) but publically suffering while doing nothing about it is simply...

I’ll just point out that a bit of empathy goes a long way, but I do want to know what steps he’s taken to actually get better? It seems it’s been happening for about 8 months, and yes, people should absolutely seek help when they feel they’re ready. I sure hope he is actively seeking that help though.
