And I’m fucking pissed as hell that a small group of delusional workers, in a dying industry that is horrible for humans and the environment, have so much clout that the rest of the country has to suffer because of their idiotic belief that Trump is going to revive coal production.

The irony is that mountaintop removal is effectively a job-killer, since it requires far less actual miners than traditional mines. Deregulating it in the name of creating jobs only benefits the coal companies, while Appalachian residents voting for their jobs to come back are increasingly fucked.
