Are we sure this isn’t the new Charger? It practically weighs the same as a truck, so it would make sense for Chrysler to stop pretending and just give it to us straight.

Hmmmm...LS1 Camaro or Cadillac Cimarron for $5000. Tough choice.
You just confirmed what I said. They are two different things conceptually, but in motion downforce puts the same strain on the motor as weight does. Downforce effectively makes the car weigh more as it moves through the air. That is the point I’m trying to make.
Joe Biden is also a complete moron.
At speeds where downforce is generated, it absolutely does. As downforce and weight increase, the motor has to make more power in order to push the car. Doesn’t matter if the weight comes from the car or the downforce.
I know a little bit about the old LTs and some things about the new ones, but I know more about the LS than anything, so you’re the comparative authority when it comes to the LT. Colored engine covers are sweet; I miss that little touch.
They could do that...but it would run counter to the ethos of the small block Chevy. They make their power and torque down low so you don’t have to rev the nuts off it; that’s pretty much how GM has always done it and how they will likely continue to do it for the foreseeable future. It still revs to 7000 RPM as it…
If the LT4 is anything like the LS9 of yore, it’s pretty special. But judging by your avatar, you take these things pretty seriously.
All valid points and I would guess it was probably $50-60k to build. But if anyone else tried to sell it (particularly to a not-stupidly rich client; someone said it was for an oil company exec who was running a giveaway), they probably wouldn’t have gotten anywhere over $75k for it. You could do it much cheaper if…
It won’t need to rev that high to make that kind of power. The only really cost-effective way to make an LS/LT rev that high (again, unnecessary) is to shorten the stroke (and lose cubic inches in the process).
...until the Viper goes back into production in a few years, just like the last few times it “died.”
You say that forced induction on a track car is problematic...then you pose a turbo as the solution. Ok. Keeping the LT is the only way they’ll be able to keep costs down, which is still a key part of the Corvette’s ethos and perhaps its biggest selling feature. Since the C4, the Corvette has been about world-beating…
Supposedly called LT5
I would wager that this is the same type of person who would forget to breathe if it wasn’t an automatic behavior. This just gives more credence to the “remove the warning labels and let nature sort itself out” idea.
Did they do a breakdown of the sale that showed how much they had in it? You have a point about it being someone else’s money, but for what they used to build it (it has a crate 350 for crying out loud), I really don’t know how you could possibly spend more than $40-50k building it, and that’s with labor. I saw a…
The north produces some very dim people as well; that much I can personally attest to. Today I was very nearly hit (while walking in a crosswalk) by an idiot doing 50-60 mph through an intersection with a stoplight in a crowded town that had another intersection not 50 yards beyond it (also with a stoplight).
Quite possibly, considering he convinced some sucker to pay $150k for a ‘49 3100 with a crate 350 (which by all rights should be a $40k truck when all is said and done).
The only thing wrong with this is the price. Take the 7 off of it and people will buy. At $750k, they’ll sell approximately none of them.
If it was $20-22k, NP. At $26k, CP.
