Sounds like Hyundai’s misstep was building the car to the standard of “Well, the people who buy this car are just going to change everything anyway, so the car doesn’t have to be that good to start.” In essence, it’s a B- student in car form.

If that particular car had the taillights where they were supposed to be (like the Euro version), the back end would be sexy! The front...needs help.
A moment of silence for the ‘Vette, please...
I think this problem occurs mainly with people who view cars as appliances, and even then, they like the idea of freedom that a car affords them (even if they don’t like the actual act of driving itself).
And how shitty is their test that it can’t tell the chemical composition of donut icing from crystal meth? They’re both addictive, but sheesh.
Is that a red MC12 in the background? If so, I may start drooling.
I’m a Chevy guy, but I will say it: that is fucking SWEET.
$90k to perform a “straightforward swap” sounds like they really ripped the customer off. I get that the motor will cost quite a bit (probably in the neighborhood of $20-25k if I had to hazard a guess) but there’s no way in hell it took $70k in parts, labor and markup (especially since they used a mostly stock…
I should add that the entire process of driving a manual goes like this:
That sounds like you were letting the clutch out too quickly. The biggest part of learning to drive a manual is feeling out the progression of the clutch. As you let it out SLOWLY (letting it out too quickly without keeping the RPMs up with the throttle causes it to stall; the clutch is not an on/off switch), you’ll…
It does take practice to get good at it, but it also takes literally 30 minutes of learning to be able to at least drive a manual. Give it another try some time! You’ll like it. :)
As a big fan of the S10, I have to say the Syclone and Typhoon are freaking awesome. That is all.
That 454 was a turd.
The LFA is still very modern. Wonderful cars!
That is horrific.
Hahahahahaha. Nope.
That Harry Potter dig with “Fuck the bucket of ice” was actually pretty damn funny!
You get my star; nice truck! I have big plans for my first gen.
Can confirm! The proportions look fantastic.
I love the 4.3. I’ve seen as high as 28 MPG from mine on one occasion and typically get 25 on the highway. It’s not particularly fast by any means, but it does scoot off the line surprisingly quick, even if it runs out of puff by the time you hit 60 and it’s an absolute dog on the hills unless you downshift. Given…
