I think this was quite common in earlier generations but not so much now. We’re talking about an assault here. A physical attack on another person, a crime of violence directed specifically against a woman. This is not a drug offense or property crime where no violence was involved. This is not a category of “smaller” crimes for which sentences should be reduced.

I don’t think that person is female. Spending way too much energy “debunking” the story, and they’ve made some pretty hateful comments about jezebel readers. I don’t know many women who would be quite so scornful of other women, aside from Ann Coulter.
