Looking at this guy... Did anyone have him try checking the “I am not a robot” box in a captcha, just before he said that...?

Wow LeCun is wrongheaded. I would think that he would be disabused of the notion that we’re all worried about some potential Skynet boogeyman being sprung from “AI”. We’re worried about the ACTUAL HARMS that this technology is doing RIGHT NOW. Jebus cripes, dude, let the tech be shepherded in an ethical manner so…
Based on my experience watching laws and regs get passed over the years, how much regulation you want is often a bell curve. Lots of regulation for very “smart” things and very “dumb” things.
I’m pretty agnostic on the bounce vs sequence thing except that least interesting parts of the game show for me are the “game” part. Optimized betting and strategy is boring , I just want to see if I know more answers than these nerds. Similarly, I think runaway games are fine - as a viewer, I’m not getting any money…
It’s clearly a problem only to other contestants, not viewers, but that’s the game: when you answer a question correctly you have control of the board. Playing to your own strengths and selecting categories/amounts so you can win more and maintain control is part of the strategy, or else there would be no need for a…
Indeed, the problem with Jeopardy would be solved by making the game not Jeopardy.
Yeah, either I’m enjoying watching Jeopardy! wrong, or Hughes is.
Obviously have to include this:
People will keep making this joke but the reactions to these new voices have been overwhelmingly positive over on r/RickAndMorty. And the small minority of users supporting Roiland are always downvoted. The show’s core fanbase has mellowed out quite a bit and the McDonald’s fiasco was six years ago now.
Sounded fine to me.
HA!
I’m sure based on history and how they handled the voice change for Solar Opposites, Rick and Morty fans will focus on what really matters, the writing, and will take the new voices in stride and positively.
I think that it can be both things. Stand-alone, it’s a great character study of criminals and the effects of crime life on people. However, if you have also seen Goodfellas, The Irishman seems redundant.
Rick sounds a lot more tame than usual, but I don’t really care if Maria Banford were to replace the voices, as long as the writing stays consistently good.
an entire body of work steeped in the belief that toxic masculinity is the organizing principle of the cosmos
And had I not known there was any change, I wouldn’t have been able to tell from last night’s episode.
I’ll admit, in this specific context, I’m delighted by the line about “the toxic masculinity his movies either examine or celebrate depending on your point of view.” I like that Scorcese is such an advocate for moviemaking as a form, but he doesn’t have a movie that I’d actually watch again.
“The Temporal Loom is broken!”
I really want to see a scene in which OB is wearing that t-shirt from IT Crowd that just has “RTFM” in big red letters across it.
That “oopsie” when I lost it and did the plot the The Avengers.
