some of them were laboring under the misconception that if they delayed the certification long enough, they’d miss some imaginary deadline and it’d all be chucked out.

Aloha 2: Aloha’s Revenge (wasn’t that piece of shit she was in called Aloha or something?)
I do love that Wonderful Life isn’t afraid to go pretty dark, though. 2020 now and that scene with him smashing the model in the living room is still so upsetting and heartbreaking to watch. Dude’s just fucking had ENOUGH, and who can’t relate to that?
And this just has to do with the time period, I’m sure, but the…
I love Wonderful Life but this is spot-on. The last 1/3, ostensibly the point of all the build-up, seems tonally and structurally airlifted in from another movie, and has the effect of the ending seeming really abrupt to me.
anytime! :)
So you’re gonna go with semantics and walking back what you were clearly implying. Huh. Well...played?
I guess I’ll answer it directly, then.
Not to mention that any suggestion I should feel empathy for entitled, wealthy, insulated ‘royalty’ still perpetuating the classist concept of ‘monarchy’ in 20-GODDAMN-20 is richer than they are.

and nuance and context are important things. there’s a huge range of messy grey areas between ‘cancelled due to rabid racism/a joke so offensive we couldn’t print it…
A SOTL sequel series!
quite stunning that something that innocuous requires both omitting from an article about said joke, but also desperate apologies and shaming.
Seems like AV Club is just as happy to resurrect bashing ‘Green Book’ as Viggo here is to keep defending it.
We get it, the movie’s problematic. I didn’t skip it because of that, but because it looked like it fucking sucked. Nothing I’ve read has dissuaded me from this opinion.
This is, like, soap opera level accelerated aging.
Lot of spicy takes here. Dude can do whatever he likes with his own music, y’all.
He really does look bloodstained rather than actually red. Or Kool-Aid stained.
