No they can’t *know.* Kids are very impressionable. It’s not an excuse for their action, but it’s also why we limit their rights and don’t (generally) treat them the same as adults in the criminal justice system. Regardless, the school district, a public entity, cannot lawfully punish these students.

They weren’t at school, physically at a school event, or using school resources. If the school could punish them for this, then it could punish them for literally any transgression one might imagine, however remote/detached from school life it may be.

What makes you think I’m “mad” about this? And you have no idea how I feel about Tambor or the allegations against him.

The outraged worked: she listened, admitted fault, apologized, and stated intent to change course - yet somehow I am guessing people will continue criticizing her for her original intent and initial response.

This won’t satisfy anyone who was angry about it in the first place, but it will likely kill this project or reduce it in scope greatly.
