Leftists & Tankies will absolutely come out of the woodwork to defend Maduro and argue that the US are the real bad guys. Happens every time Venezuela are in the news.

running out of oxygen has never been the concern...

The apologists for the destruction of the rainforest blow my mind. The clearest examples of short-sightedness and ignorance are always on display, followed usually by some idiot throwing around philiosphy terms about why it is okay for Brazil to chop down the rainforest and there is nothing we can do about it.

We’ve crossed the line, unless the entire planet does a complete reversal right now we’re just waiting for the inevitable.

I believe the Amazon is responsible for recycling the vast majority of the world’s fresh water as well.

This government never cared about the environment, so there couldn’t be a “change of mind”. Even if it cared, it is so profoundly incompetent and corrupt that it wouldn’t have any practical effect.

Not sure if you’re trolling, but i’ll bite. New oxygen doesn’t solve any of our problems. We could have a trillion tonnes of extra oxygen a day and it wouldn’t help a jot with global warming. The Amazon is important because it absorbs carbon, not because it produces oxygen.

I suppose one could call Maduro “left wing” in that it’s the flavor of authoritarianism that he favors. But would he care much about under which system he crushes the people so long as he remains in power?

The whole Amazon is doomed, but not only right wing presidents are to blame, you also have Maduro in Venezuela that promotes illegal mining activities that destroy the ecosystem in states such as Amazonas and Bolivar

Since 2015, there have been no open threats or tension between the West and Iran. In fact, Iran has been one of the key allies in fighting ISIS.

Catering? Do you mean exchanging goods and services? Like, capitalism? Why would Americans engage in capitalism? Seriously?

Oh course there were WMDs in Iraq, I know this because I believe it...

No, this was destined since Trump won. He has been quite clear on his plan to undo anything Obama did, and continuing with the Iran deal would be an indirect admission Obama had done something worthwhile. And neither Trump nor his base can suffer such an idea.
