At 1:50 a.m., brother Joseph Ems punched Piazza in the abdomen, a decision that forensic pathologist Dr. Harry Kamerow testified may have exacerbated the severity of a spenic injury. [Emphasis added.]

I thought really hard. Then I laughed and laughed.

So, just to be clear: you didn’t actually read the article. Got it.

Now playing

Reminds me of one of my favorite QI segments:

They still use one that is quite similar, don’t they? I don’t have a television anymore, so I’m probably not watching any new ones, but when they have a Masterpiece that is a mystery, are they not still using the Gorey clip?

I do greatly enjoy his Shakespeare. And I thought his Wallender was good—just not nearly so good as the original.

Yeah, but age is so much less attractive on a woman.

I work in a little garden center in my town, and we sport a sign in the window saying that everyone is our friend/neighbor and all are welcome in our shop. It’s in four languages.

Chances are those weren’t the ladybugs we’re talking about (Hippodamia convergens). Those were much more likely to have been Asian lady beetles (Harmonia axyridis). Similar, but not quite the same insect. It’s the Asian lady beetle that infests homes, not the little ladybugs that eat aphids.

Here’s another tip about mealybugs: they are “tended” or “herded” (and protected) by ants! So, when you put your infested houseplants outside, be sure to include an ant trap on top of the soil in the pot. I use these. They’re easy to use and mess free.

Not to be difficult, but “freaks from the eighth dimension” always take on the first name of “John.” John Whorfin, John Bigboote, John Emdall, et al.
