That’ll teach ‘em.

And therein lies the joke, my friend . . .

I don’t know what you currently do for a living, but I would strongly urge you to pursue a career as a political campaign manager. Brilliant post.

I’m not sure I understand your point. Exactly what “immoral behavior” is the government “[forcing] people to engage in?”

Your husband’s name is James Brady?

But, see, “the team” in civil society is all white, male and middle class or above. The “single or group agendas” are people of color, women, the poor, LGBTQ, etc.

The University of Nebraska is a public (tax-supported) institution, so it would indeed be considered “the government” in this context. It is, conversely then, different for private colleges and universities.

I am from, and still live in, Nebraska. It’s my opinion this guy has been sucking off the public tit for far too long. I’ve had conversations about this with friends, and we’re not even sure how he makes a living when he’s not in public office (or unsuccessfully running for public office).

Truly. Nebraska’s stadium has artificial turf. That should’ve been a clue.

Funny that the Texas Tribune spelled “indications” wrong. Now that’s some top-notch journalism, right there.

A backpfeifengesicht award, as it were.

Apology accepted.

Most people would throw hands? Where’d you come up with that wild speculation? I’d agree most people at a Trump rally would, but none of the folks I spend my time would . . . where’d you grow up? Is that the kind of people you surround yourself with? Yikes!

Sticks and stones, buddy. Sticks and stones. Pie throwing aside, you don’t get to pummel somebody for insulting you.

Charity really begins and ends at home with him.

I use an ad blocker on my browser that has currently (on this page) blocked 17 ads (according to the little counter icon). Maybe using an ad blocker would make an article cross-posted from The Concourse now and then a little less irritating?

Yes! And where do you suppose those new Nike uniforms were made, Jason? Perhaps the United States, but perhaps one of the other 42 countries in which Nike has clothing manufacturing plants? Now, that’s downright un-American!

Well, it’s not exactly a constitutional right (unless the school district or some other governmental entity tries to stop them), but we get your point. Even school districts have been given some leeway by the Supreme Court to “legally” control speech (much to my, and I assume others’ dismay).

Sounds like they’re going to be pretty busy to me . . .

I know her from all her spot-on work for NPR and PBS. Also, she’s currently married to Tom Gjelten, after having been married to and divorced from Ben Bradlee Jr. and Julius Genachowski . . .
