I live in Lincoln, Nebraska—not really known as a hotbed of liberalism, I know. But even I was shocked when I saw a sort of “Dukes of Hazzard” pickup truck with a huge Stars and Bars affixed to the middle of the bed of the truck. Nebraska license plates, too.

I’m from the middle of the country, in a state that is predominately Republican. (I’m a Democrat.) Our governor is an okay guy, our legislature is a Unicameral, so our State senators run under no party affiliation. Sorry—I was responding to your remark that “If she says it’s ok, and she’s not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, what further evidence should be required?”
