I finished watching it! I liked the season overall, but I could’ve done without the 008 storyline. Episode 7 stopped the season dead in it’s tracks. If they had cut it, the season would be better off.

And to make matters worse, you just fucking know that goddamned Jimmy Fallon will be wedged into this thing, mugging and giggling like a moron

Agreed. Over time, The Middle surpassed Modern Family as the better show. It is kind of goofy, but I always viewed it as ~mockumentary about the life of Mike Heck.

Can we stop letting nostalgia get in the way of acknowledging this wasn’t a good movie?

I think I took for granted how great the combo of Stewart and Colbert was. Seeing other people try to fill their shoes just makes me feel hollow inside.
