I saw that - howlingly funny! I don't think anybody was fooled. Even though I'm a Yank I know and loathe the Daily Mail - but it's perversely fascinating. Like a snake.

I clicked over to YouTube and yes, awkward.
Laughing!! (I still want "Go away!")
Oh, it most certainly did! I was waiting, so: "Well done, you!"
We'll have to disagree on Tara, but if I had to trade it would be NO NO NO NOT WASH.
Shoot, I don't know what happened there. Sherlockology has some ringtones based on music from the show.
It's amazing, isn't it?! Although if I must choose a favorite I tip toward "The Reichenbach Fall." Because holy heck, Martin Freeman, holy heck Loo Brealey, holy heck Benedict Cumberbatch, and HOLY heck Andrew Scott. Plus the Scotland Yard crew. Flawless individual and ensemble work by everyone involved.
Heh. There was one somewhere on Tumblr of Sherlock's voice shouting "Go away!" at whoever's ringing the doorbell (you remember the scene). I really really wanted it, but my elderly Blackberry was being cranky and now I can't find it. The useful Sherlockology website has
Yep. I'm particularly concerned about the very tense, very tightly edited "Reichenbach Fall" (although I will say they handled "The Great Game" well in 2010; it was "A Study in Pink" that suffered the most).
THANK YOU! Wow. Rebecca Eaton's answer is largely what I expected (time constraints), but I'm somewhat relieved to know that the edits are being made at the UK end, since they know the material so much better. And thank heavens the DVDs are full-length. I'm now wondering why the 90-minute version can't be the one…
Get in line!!
But didn't give him a pardon. I can't remember why they weaseled out of it (if that's fair - I should go check the Guardian website).
Yep, that's one of the most depressing stories ever. Damn.
Also, Tara, god damn it. But yes, WHY WASH??!!!
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH! Oh dear lord I am terrified of those things.
Dying laughing. What. On. Earth.
Frequently - but not always - Hispanic stands in for "person of Native American descent from Central and South America who speaks Spanish or Portuguese." So in that sense, many Hispanic people are of color.
There has been some truly amazing television out of the UK. Check out The Singing Detective with Michael Gambon, and the original Pennies from Heaven with Bob Hoskins - both miniseries, both written by the late Dennis Potter. Or the original State of Play, which does get a touch long, but wow - and it's got Bill…
Here's his filmography at IMDb. He's been in quite a few films, including Amazing Grace and Atonement (as a horribly creepy character).
How cool! Hope you had a great time.
