I think you nailed it, she has a captivating voice... Owen Pallet did an essay (not sure what to call it) about Teenage Dream and it was spot on, she conveys her emotions so well through her voice.

Yup. Even when she was doing her Christian music stuff .... the girl had a strong voice. I really want her to do another Teenage Dream type song, her voice was perfection in that song, no one could sing that the way she could.
