I wish that we had a real chance of an Australian-style gun ban here. There’s no other solution. Everything else is a half measure. We just wait for the next shooting and hope that it isn’t us or someone we know.

Respectfully, I live in charleston. It might have been helpful to concern ourselves with the removal of confederate symbols, but jack shit has been done about gun access. I'm moving towards an opinion of total gun ban. I say this as a gun owner. I'm happy to turn mine in if they all become illegal.

I wonder at what point other countries will start accepting asylum requests from Americans who are afraid as hell of our rampant gun violence.

It’s important to acknowledge extremism. Extremism will always exist and exists in all countries. Great conversations. Must be had.

And let’s not fotget that this is only a few minutes away from Virginia Tech. This community has already seen its share of gun violence in recent years. Just mind-blowingly awful.
