I want to know ALL the history that the white males left out of the history books (speaking as a white male).

Why is party discipline always framed as a one way street? If Clinton wants Sanders supporters, then she should adopt his model for free public education and at least a fight for the public option, if not single payer.

There is a Black establishment, largely driven by church leaders and the like, and they do a wonderful job of turning out voters for preferred candidates. The Clinton’s have a natural advantage with the Black establishment and Hillary knows how to tap into it. For what it is worth, I am a 39 year old black guy, and

We need to end the school-to-prison pipeline

It’s ridiculously hard to get into politics as a grassroots campaign because of the big money involved here. That’s why it’s cool when Deray launched his campaign to be mayor of Baltimore like this but it helped so much that he has a recognizable name and the blue vest helps a lot. I remember an upstart Dem trying to

Clinton is so damn lucky that nobody but varying shades of white dudes tried to run against her in the primary.

You can’t look at her in a vacuum. Compared to everyone else? She’s either the best or second best candidate for a black voter’s interests. Couple that with the Clinton’s decades of work courting them, and she has a strong bulwark of support.

It may be, I just didn’t want to overstate the point because this is hard to quantify. The intellectuals and activists I pay attention to support Sanders, but I’m biased because I support Sanders, so the discourse I am reading is slanted toward that progressive, intersectional thinking. It’s also difficult to get an

I’m baffled by this myself. My GF says its because way too many of ‘us’ aren’t doing our homework and voting solely on name recognition and who our pastor says to vote for. I don’t totally disagree.

When an affectionate term like dear is used by a stranger/person in a position of power it always comes off as super condescending to me.

And it seems the dnc hasn't learned from that. Voting for hrc doesn't make me a fucking adult. I'm an independent, so I don't owe either party anything. The dnc hasn't earned my vote. That's their problem, not mine.

Sanders does okay with black intellectuals and activists, lower income and young black voters, but the Clintons have been locking up the black establishment, and she is unreachable when it comes to wealthy older black voters.

She does well with OLDER African Americans, ie the over 45 crowd. I assume many of the younger folks are voting Sanders but more older people are actually voting. If I can find a statistics based on average age of voters I’ll post it.

Ah man, we have got some serious facial expressions breaking containment at the end of this thing...

This interaction is really surprising to me considering how focused she always is on her tone and wording (almost to a fault, in that some people think she can be robotic).

Clinton got this nomination on lock. No more dabbing in her future. She knows black people are voting Democratic, if they vote. This is now a race to get the most white people.

No sorry. Playing the lesser evil game is what got us here in the first place.

Even as an adult, I can’t get behind the idea of doing what’s easy rather than what I truly believe in. The idea that all of these stunts should be ignored and that we should vote in someone we don’t even trust is repugnant. Growing up shouldn’t be something that would make past you shake their head in shame.

I said that payday loans transform racism—cultural and generation racism—into institutionalized racism. Their basic function is to make money, by keeping poor people poor. Groups who have more poor people than others, including black communities and Hispanic communities, are affected more by the predatory loan

I also wanna say, it’s fairly brave of Anna to mention this.
