Intent has never been more important than impact. Intent is the difference between murder and manslaughter, but man slaughter is still very bad.

Dave’s rhetoric gets picked up by people and they then can use that to inflict harm on people. It’s how culture works.

Intent does not negate harm.

Words have power. Ridiculing others on as big a stage as Dave has has impact. Using your logic, there is no issue to white comedians using the N-word to make jokes about black people?
