why

Ten-ply.

Actor Jean Yoon shared her “difficult” and “painful” experiences on the Canadian sitcom Kim’s Convenience, defending co-star Simu Liu’s statements following The Globe’s article about the show’s end.

If it’s by Hasseneger or Barsanti, it’s automatic trash. Hassenger’s been writing for Polygon now and it’s just as bad; that site has also been going downhill despite the occasional brilliant piece. The new girl is fucking terrible. There are hardly any TV reviews, and what they ARE reviewing, nobody seems to give a

Same. Den of geek is ok but not that much going on at any time, and lots of EXPLAINED boring articles. Vulture is okay but piiiiles of faff and a paywall.

My context was reading another article earlier today. What shitty writing Jesus.

Oh my god. Here I was wondering if maybe, maybe, av club was gonna do a proper apology and retraction.

I like dark, fucked up humour. I don’t like lazy, boring, dumb humour and people complaining about the audience if it gets booed, criticized, or bombs.

oh,good, it’s not just me.

I don’t even care, I am HERE for eyeliner and nail polish weapons guy Jason Mantzoukas.

Love this perspective.

I had a row with a friend a few weeks ago about this kind of thing. Granted, I kind of baited with him with a “white men whining about things!” line... but I find a lot of “comedy defenders” get right up on the high horse with COMEDY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SAY ANYTHING. NOTHING OFF LIMITS.

...MILLIONS?

This comment appalls me. Beast is the best.

I’ve never been able to watch more than a few episodes of any of these shows. A big reason why isn’t even necessarily the number of them, but the sheer number of episodes. And while I do kind of want to try Legends, I feel like I’ve had my fill of “full-season american television.” I want six-episode seasons. Or ten.

It’s interesting to reconcile the nature of the show, as you mention, with Liu’s expressed frustration of the characters not growing. I think that’s why, as much as I enjoy it, I haven’t finished season 4. It didn’t go anywhere.

People keep recommending Mr. D to me (I’m a teacher) and I just can’t. It’s fine! It’s... fine! It’s the epitome of “Canadian broad and sitcommy.” Kim’s overcomes that with the cast and the diversity. At least for the first few seasons.

Same write who wrote that ATROCIOUS Ellie Kemper article a couple days ago. I raised my eyebrows immediately at the Djagno comment, looked at the byline, rolled my fuckin’ eyes.

That’s your fucking take? Get tae fuck.
