i agree. i also think that stating your bias up front is the smart and honorable way to do any sort of writing/research. sarah koenig never claimed objectivity as far as i remember, and in general, i think it’s nearly impossible in most situations for human beings to be objective in the first place.

indeed. and i think it’s easier to wrap your brain around the idea that that person is still a murderer even if they’re proven innocent than even entertain the idea that the person who actually committed the murder is still out there somewhere.

how long is bruno mars going to milk that song?! jeez.

yeah, steinem here is heteronormative af.

thanks! gonna go with 10 ton truck. faster, less pain. although a double-decker bus is pretty dramatic. so.... yeah. <3

dunno who you’re showing the door. i’m not going anywhere.

not at all the same.
i’m not going to continue to engage with someone who’s so dead set on defending shitty behavior and unfunny jokes.

so not worth it... argh.

you can disagree all you want, but it’s what he did. have a nice day!

i would recommend reading about “dead-naming” before you defend this as a “simple” thing gervais said during the GGs. this is something that happens a lot.

can we trade trump for bowie?

wow. leo’s done something people might care about now.

i’ve never ever heard anyone say that shaming a rapist in social media is enough. i’ve heard people talk about multiples avenues to take to combat rape and rape culture. i’m not sure where you're getting this idea that anyone thinks stopping rape and prosecuting rapists is all about tweeting and being done with it or

THIS.

i’m sorry that happened to you. i really am. and if you were able to identify him and warn people on social media, i would stand by you a million percent.

no one’s high-fiving anyone. who’s high-fiving anyone about rape?! do you think people who reveal the identities of their rapists feel excited by the prospect?

you know what? if you’re robbed, you’ll get some sympathy. but if you’re raped, somehow YOU did something to bring it on yourself. guarantee you most people won’t immediately ask “did you lock your doors?” or “did you have an alarm system?” or “why didn’t you attack the person robbing you?” if your house is broken

i bet he’d be gracious and friendly. next time say hi! a friend of mine went to parsons when he was there and said he was nothing short of awesome. even though she wasn’t in his area, her few interactions with him were positive.

exactly!
