Let the femmeslash begin!

This episode was great fun, and I love Catherine (the poisonous beating heart of this show) to death. But it highlights the weakness of the show's central conceit. What to do about Mary? She was really most interesting while ruling in Scotland, queening it up (or digging her own grave as some people think). But here,

That would be so hilarious! How on earth would their first date go…?

This may sound a bit weird, but I find The Americans to be one of the most romantic TV shows I've ever seen. There's no filters or Vaseline smeared on the lens, and most often the relationships end horribly. But even though most of the characters deceive and lie constantly, their emotions are depicted honestly and

I stopped watching at the end of episode 7, because I wanted to wait and see how the finale went.

If Ryan Murphy gets his grubby paws on Serial I'm going to be seriously pissed.

I'm having a great time imagining the cast…

Ben Affleck IS Adnan Syed!

I found it astonishing how mean-spirited and angry you got over a crap show, which (for me) was a great intro to the AV Club.

Why, thank you! I'll ask Genji's opinion. ;)

Really? The characterization is stronger in WSS than R&J? The awfulness of the wealthy, insufferable (even monstrous) Montagues and the Capulets makes the spontaneous, sheltered, lustful idiocy of our teenage protags understandable and relatable to a certain degree. No wonder Juliet wants to run away from her distant

I think ingenue archetypes are fine for older comedy-musicals like A Night at the Opera or Roman Scandals, where the ingenue characters are pretty much grist for the plot and you're just watching it anyway for Groucho Marx and Eddie Cantor.

I don't enjoy it so much, but by and large I want to shove Maria into a wood chipper.

Oh, I just thought he meant the song was cutesy and facile. And I do agree it's annoyingly precious.

And he's right, too!

Please! Take it off my hands! *tosses it at you*
