Tom Scharpling's radio show on WFMU did a great satire of this kind of hardcore meathead attitude…

Still think the best break-out project from a Ramone is when Marky Ramone started writing romance novels

Oh my my my my Mitchell… my my MY GOD!!!
I had to turn it off halfway through due to the smug factor. At first I liked how forthright he was that basically he was fed money from his rich parents through his 20's until he got a successful film, but quickly realized that this still has led him to be somewhat of an ass.

Agreed- I've become a big fan of Amazon and eMusic. They're pretty cheap and give you full ownership- if I want to share the mp3s with my friends (or switch computers) it's way easy. Although I love my iPod, I never would purchase from iTunes and just use it to play mp3s from other sources. And yeah, as soon as I…

They are referring to the version of Want to Hold Your Hand, unfortunately.
Here it is over at WFMU. Basically the "joke" is that the guy is holding the girl's hands to restrain her. Yup, it's pretty terrible.

Yep- also seeing Pat Smear have so much fun rocking out with Mick Jagger was a whole weird merging of rock superforces.

Agreed. Room is definitely Cohen's finest moment on record. Good lord the atmosphere on that entire record is absolutely spine-chilling.
Many thanks! Thought I was doomed to the youtube snippets forever…
Seems to me Damaged is mostly songs that were recorded in better versions by the earlier singers (Depression-Chavo, Six Pack-Dez, etc). Most critics love it because they like talking about Rise Above. Love First Four Years, and then skip to later Henry stuff like My War.
Torn on this one… I interviewed him on one of his solo tours and he was about the nicest, down to earth guy ever. But his paranoia about petty copyright issues after all these years is bizarre. There is a full documentary by Dave Markey about the last black flag tour (also accounted in awesome detail in the book…
Yeah, bad memories when I saw that typo. I wrote a review of firehose's mr. machinery operator back in the day for my high school paper, and you can probably guess what happened when it was typed up. After that lots of kids wanted to talk about how much "Love of a Lifetime" rocked.
