But it wasn't really an advantage. It was just "a difference" and that raised the price $100 (at least). I think with the kinect gone, they may even be able to hit $349 in the next 12 months without killing their bottom line. This is a great move for MS and the customer. I would argue Kinect (and it's associated cost…
The "no kinect" thing isn't really a bombshell. People with an idea of how the industry works have been predicting this for months. Only fanboys and fools have been in denial. This was 100% inevitable. Looks like it's being done as part of a larger effort on the part of MS to get their shit together and stop screwing…
There really wasn't much exclusive contenct in the pipeline that required kinect. This was inevitable and it's a smart move on MS part.
I think it's a distinction without a difference. I've been predicting this for months. My guess is that they had to do a bit of reworking to the OS. They probably started making this move months ago when everyone was vocal and waited to pull the trigger until the OS changes were done and sales reflected their…
"it really doesn't matter that the PS4 is selling better because the XB1 isn't selling badly itself. just congratulate Sony and move on. there will be a price drop and people will buy the XB1 and i don't see the Kinect going anywhere."
Nothing to fix. We both said the same thing. Customers speak mostly loudly with their dollars IMO. So, listening to sales figures is the same as listening to customers.
I prefer Mojitos, but I'm not picky.
"This kind of bundle is just what they do before a more basic unbundled price cut. Also, if you recall, the PS3 price drop coincided with the loss of some hardware, making the system cheaper by removing functionality. I see no reason to believe MS won't make the same decision. It saves the PS3 from ultimate…
I called it. They're dropping Kinect just like they should. Smart move MS. Price drop in plenty of time for holiday.
Looks like I was pretty much exactly right. http://kotaku.com/microsoft-anno…
I would apreciate an apology from everyone who called me jerk/fool/asshole/idiot/fanboy for saying this was inevitable. MS has shown a good ability to listen to the customer. I'm pleased to see this news.

"To Compensate?" Well, since the customer isn't losing anything, I think it's safe to presume that MS believes they themselves are. Which means they attributed some non-trivial number of subscribers to people who wanted those services. They anticipate losing some subs so they need a new carrot. It sounds like they're…
I don't think "surpass" is the right word since Vita launched a full year before Wii-U hit the market. More accurate would be to say the Wii-U is slightly behind globally, but ahead in the US (the main market for BL2).
I can't imagine the sales will be much better on Vita.
I already own the game on 360. I'd probably buy it again if they released on Wii-U.
Great article! Having lived through that era as a non-partisan gamer I'd be interested to read the whole book. I played the good games, no matter who they came from (and both sides had lots of good games), but in general I preferred the Marios and Zeldas over the Sonics and was never a huge sports game fan where Sega…
