Electric bill guy, I’ll make fun of mercilessly.

It’s his math, not mine! I’m a reporter, not an accountant, and I do not trust myself to know his finances better than he does. That said, I do intend to interview him after this is all over, and I will absolutely press him on the real total, because I have a feeling that no matter what, it will differ pretty

Hades and, like, a billion other roles

Hades is a once-in-a-generation gem. If I could wipe my memory to play it all over again from scratch to experience it again, I would. Well deserved!

This is art.

Kirk indeed rules. I am—and will remain—eternally bummed that our tenures here did not overlap.

And that’s a good point; I was definitely thinking more of the creative side of things, where the crossover in the Venn diagram of ‘we’ve thought of a gun that can do ‘x’!’ and ‘guns that don’t belong in Destiny’s universe’ is pretty slim.

See, I tend to make the opposite assumption, in that I assume (whatever the new IP is), it won’t be a shooter at all; I figure at this point, all their ‘shooter’ ideas are going straight into the Destiny 2 funnel. I figure the new IP will be for everybody on staff who’s just like ‘we’ve been working on a shooter for

Project Triangle Strategy (don’t worry, that’s a working title)

Honestly it does look fun! Sometimes all I want is a fun romp where I can point at the screen and go “they say that in the videogame!” (I’m not being sarcastic, I’m just a simple gal of simple tastes lol).

Ohhhh, okay. My bad. The terminology of whether unlocking the catalyst means getting it, or having it, but making it so you can actually apply it to the weapon is...vague lol. :) I am...less excited about getting it now lol

This lady dunks.

And this is why we’re keeping him in the dark as to who he was for as long as possible - because that’s always a good idea, in fiction or otherwise!

Dead Cells is a lot like Hades in that you’re always making some sort of progress, due to upgrades you purchase with cells. I highly recommend it! It was the first rougelite I ever got hooked on, and I got hooked on it good (I started speedrunning it because of how much I liked it lol).

My reaction to the explosion of affection for Hades has been "Man, more people should play Dead Cells".

It is much more traditionally rogue-like than Hades and I think those elements are implemented in a better way in Dead Cells. All in all, I think Hades is a much better game—but this one leads in its use of randomness and variation. I’d say they are two ends of the roguelike spectrum and will probably appeal to very

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Both are fantastic!

My favorite part of both Hades and Dead Cells, aside from the addicting progression loop and “one more run” vibe is the absolutely EXCELLENT attention to good game feel and combat I can only describe as “visceral.” Man, oh man, the combat and weapons in Dead Cells are so sick. And the constant
