Ha! That’s what I was thinking. My office coworkers have fleet vehicle Chevy Traverse SUVs that are just awful and had recalls and repairs for things that should never happen. One guy had a squeak develop that was from a weld separating. Poor quality control is a big red flag for me.

Driving a Chrysler.

Geez. Fuck that.

In the late 70's, my dad finally traded in his ‘68 Ford Galaxie 500 to one of the local Ford dealers and buys an F-150. Dad explained that the car is rusty, has a hole in the floor, and the frame is rusting out. Dealer turns around and sells the car to an unsuspecting person.

When you say parts of Minnesota, I think either I-90 west of Albert Lea or I-94 before Moorhead.

I’m with you and don’t need AC here in Minnesota. Even in the worst part of summer, when the humidity makes you live on or in the lake, a daily driver without AC in not a big deal. Did it on my ‘05 Passat wagon and growing up. Winter is too damn long here to spend summer inside slaved to AC.

My wife had Dobie puppies growing up, but together we have only adopted adults. Unfortunately, they’ve all had the cropped ears. I have been around a couple of intact ear Dobies, and I would love to adopt one with uncut ears.

Oh goodness. Growing up, we had a gallon of milk bust open in the trunk on the way home from the store. I still gag at the memory of the smell.

I cannot stop laughing and crying at your description.

Isn’t that the truth!

I love big dogs like Pits, Rotties, Dobies and the like. They are very sweet and wonderful dogs, but I also will treat them with caution if neglected or trained for fighting or as a guard.

We have owned Dobermans for years, and have been around Rottweilers for years as well. I would love a Rottweiler because they are excellent dogs with great temperaments, but my wife loves Doberman Pinchers.

I am not surprised that dog made tracks for the horizon. I was driving with the sunroof open a couple of summers ago, and a tire detonated on the VW Golf behind me. I ducked and wondered what the hell happened. I can’t imagine what the tire in the video sounded like.

If you like to cook, crack open Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone by Deborah Madison. I got a battered copy years ago, and learned how to prepare and cook most common vegetables, create main course vegetarian meals, and eat more healthy and enjoy it. We also have a few books by Jeanne Lemlin (like Quick Vegetarian

Facing side on to the dog is great advice.

Reminds me of the auto shop in my old neighborhood (Nghia’s in Minneapolis) that I took my car to for work. “Fast, cheap, or quality: pick two.” For the cars in that neighborhood, it was a great business motto for a repair place.

Having come from Wisconsin, I laughed myself sick at that thought. Self-awareness is not a Sconnie trait, generally.

Exactly this! Also, I am extremely happy I have a Costco on my route to work and pay as little difference as possible for premium.

Oh man, I love visiting my family in Wisconsin. Cheese is cheap and plentiful across the state. If you are near Weyauwega, stop in to their store and pick up your New Glarus beer, as much cheese as you can handle, and custard sold by the pound.
