I just put a steering box in an old Ford Ranger. I haven't used non-metric tools in so long I barely remembered they existed. I did the whole job with an adjustable wrench, a 3/8" line wrench, vise grips, and a "close enough" metric socket.

@godfathercorvette: It may not be any more correct than the other way as long as the venting isn't directional, but I agree with your assessment that it's counter-intuitive.

Even before the oil spill, there were huge dead zones at the mouth of the Mississippi because of agricultural runoff. This is hundreds of times more dangerous than the oil, because it shows no signs of stopping for decades. It's going to take a 50-years-overdue systemwide reform of American farming and fishing…
